Hello, I'm Manuel Fuentes. I'm a generalist TD based in London with a passion for realism and VFX. I'm a passionate problem solver and learner.

I work in Houdini, Maya, 3d Max, however these days I tend to rely more on Houdini and Solaris workflows using Karma and a lot more hydra based tools for speed and quality, however I'm pretty flexible. I use Nuke, Fusion and 3DEqualizer for compositing and matchmoving, I also do a heavy amount of Arnold, Renderman, Redshift and Vray for rendering and have a lot of experience programming and scripting on various platforms, Im also confident being in different environments such as Windows, Mac, Linux, I've also helped implement new tools into the pipeline for smaller teams.

Throughout my years of experience I had the opportunity to learn, meet, and work with amazing people ranging from VFX, Feature Films, Virtual production, Commercials, Motion graphics, VR/AR, Advertising, Art Direction, Visuals / Live content for concerts and more.

I have always loved movies, concept art, and VFX. I began hand painting backgrounds and characters from Disney movies when I was 4-5 years old, and that's how I fell in love with this industry. It didn't take much for me to decide I wanted to pursue this as a career. As I grew up, that passion evolved into Concept Art, and I was totally inspired by artists like Feng Zhu, Kekai Kotaki, Daarken, Moebius, and many others.

In 2010, I decided to study Illustration, and at university I learned how to use 3dsMax and a few other DCC’s and that is how I started into the 3D world. My first job after Uni was at a small studio that worked with traditional animation, where I explored different techniques combining both illustration and 3D.

After a few years, I had the chance to work on a few amazing film titles while working at Territory Studios like A Man Called Otto (2022) Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023), Paradise (2023), were I had the fortune to meet incredible artists, which definitely helped my professional career. It's for this reason that I've always tried to expand my skills in this direction since my studies at university.

I hope to keep learning and keep having fun.
